Special Occasion Pants - How to not wear a dress to a fancy dinner

Hi FGirl! Firstly, I love your blog! I have this fancy dinner thing to go to in a couple of weeks and I was wondering if you could help me put together an outfit? Dresses and skirts make me really uncomfortable but I still want to look chic and sophisticated (and feminine). I really like the all white outfit in Cosmopolitan's Glamour on the Go fashion feature and I was hoping to find something similar but cheap. Help! - Stacey

All white is always, always chic and if you're going to do pants to a formal occasion it's definitely the way to go. Nothing particularly special about these pants, but the high waist is very trendy. Skip the jacket for a less corporate look and maybe try one of those uber ruffley shirts instead. This one from Newport News is just gorgeous! I want it for myself. Hehe. Then pile on the gold accessories. You could easily add a gold clutch to this ensemble and still get it all under $150 easy. Hope you like it!
