Wearing gauchos right

Gauchos get an bad wrap imo, but I think they can be really cute if you wear them right. Gauchos work best if they're structured. I like them in a stiffer fabric like denim (not those knit yoga things), with a snug fitting high or mid-waist and just the slightest flare at the bottom. They should end just after your knee. Having said that, don't wear them with flats or your calves will look thicker and you'll end up looking short and a little disproportionate. Choose a stylish wedge or pumps instead. Here's a look you can wear on the weekend and I particularly love this pair coz they're versatile. Black pumps and a white woven shirt (ruffles would be good) is all you need to transition these from casual chic to corporate class. Get them at Lulus. As a matter of fact, this whole outfit is from Lulus, with the exception of the tee (Target).
